Voted as one of the New 7 Wonders of the Natural World, this subterranean river extends 8.2km and ends in the sea. About a 2hr drive from Peurto Princesa in the Philippines followed by a short boat trip, it’s worth the journey. There is magnificent scenery and lots of wildlife to see. On my last trip I saw monkeys, monitor lizards and bats. Be sure to wear flip flops or water shoes as you’ll need to stand in the water to get onto and off the boat. The tour is kayak based and the guides provide a wealth of information to guests.
